Game conversion

One game's worlds, assets or mechanics are converted into another game, which then runs on its own; the source game isn't running alongside.

A conversion doesn’t link two running games. A tool reads one game’s data from the player’s own copy, such as its maps, models or block textures, and rebuilds it inside another game, which then plays it natively. TamrielMerge converts older Elder Scrolls games into Skyrim this way, and GrandTheftMinecraft recreates Minecraft’s blocks inside GTA without Minecraft running. As with the other techniques, the converted data stays on the player’s machine and isn’t redistributed.
